Jakarta (ANTARA) – Wakil Gubernur Jakarta, Rano Karno ingin memasukkan Bahasa Indonesia dialek Betawi ke dalam bahan pelajaran di sekolah sebagai bagian upaya agar peserta didik dapat semakin memahami kebudayaan daerah itu. "Suatu saat akan kami kembalikan, Bahasa Indonesia dialek Betawi ke sekolah-sekolah yang ada di Jakarta. Untuk apa? Anak-anak bisa paham (dialek Betawi)," ujar dia dalam acara "Jakarta Youth International Program (JIYP) – Seminar Mengenal Jakarta" di Balai Kota Jakarta, Selasa.Rano mengatakan, dialek Betawi menarik untuk dipelajari karena cukup beragam di berbagai wilayah Jakarta termasuk penggunaan huruf e dan o dalam kata."Karena Jakarta ini ada yang E, ada yang O. 'mau ke mane lu, mau ke mana lo,' beda-beda. Jadi, menarik kalau dipelajari," kata dia.

Saat di pesawat, dia mendengar pengumuman dalam berbagai bahasa termasuk Bahasa Bali."Saya senang kemarin, saya baru pulang dari Bali, kami di bandara, pesawat mau berangkat (pengumuman) pakai Bahasa Inggris, pakai Bahasa Bali, pakai Bahasa Indonesia. Itu kan salah satu usaha untuk menjaga bahasa ibu," kata dia.Ini menjadi bagian upaya Rano bersama jajaran untuk mengembalikan muatan lokal Jakarta ke dalam pelajaran di sekolah.

Sebelumnya dia menyampaikan akan memasukkan pencak silat ke dalam ekstrakurikuler sekolah.
